FORESTREET, n. The street frontage of a building; the part of the street directly in front of it. Also attrib.Sc. 1703 Fountainhall Decisions II. 188:
A shop built on the north side of the forestreet near to the Netherbow.
Edb. 1739 Caled. Mercury (6 Feb.):
The first Story above the Shops to the Fore-street of the great Stone-land called Home's Land.
Sc. 1777 Ib. (4 June):
A fore-street House in the Clamshell Turnpike.
