The Excresce of the Excise of the Inland Salt, and Forraign Commodities, etc.
Sc. 1709 in M. P. Brown Suppl. Decisions (1826) V. 56:
There happened in the coining sometimes an excresce on the tale of five or six shillings or thereby.
Sc. 1816 Scott Letters (1932) I. 504:
They will still have about £400 excresce of the English bills.
