DAUL, v. To tire, weary. Found only in ppl.adj. dauled, dawalt (Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.).Abd. 1868 W. Shelley Wayside Flowers 67:
When faither comes hame frae his wark, dauled and done.
Hence †dauler, “a supine delicate person” (Rxb. 1825 Jam.2).
