DARLIN', n. and adj.

1. n. In adv. phr. me darlin' = nicely (Kcb.10 1940).Arg.1 1940:
That biler fire is whiles gey thraan, but its gaan the day jist me darlin'.

2. adj. Nice.Uls. 1880 W. H. Patterson Gl. Ant. and Dwn.:
“A darlin' red-head” means a nice head of red hair.

[Evidently an Irishism.]
