CURDY, n. Punishment. In phr. to gie (someone) curdy (see quot.).Kcb. 1824 Curriehill:
I am quite surprised the author [MacTaggart] forgot this very expressive word, and one too which is peculiar to Galloway. . . . When children are about any mischief the mother will call out to them, "Od, my man, I'll gie ye curdy if ye dinna gie ower yer mischief."
