CUNNIN' STANE, n.comb. In phr. he's taen a walk roond the Cunnin' Stane, used to describe an untrustworthy, undependable person.Fif. (Auchterderran) 1912 (per Fif.10):
“I wudna lippen owre sair till that lad: he's taen a walk roond the Cunnin' Stane.” The expression was in common use forty years ago.
