CONFESS, v. Sc. usages.

1. “To make a bottle confess, to drain it to the last drop by pouring or dripping” (Sc. 1825 Jam.2).

2. “To bring up the contents of the stomach” (Ib.).

3. With wi: to confess to, admit to. Cf. own wi s.v. Own, tak wi s.v. Tak, v., B.1. (16). Lnk. a.1779 D. Graham Writings (1883) II. 18: 
Ye filthy dog at ye are, are ye gaun to confess wi' a bystart.
