CHESSFORD, Cheeseford, n. “The mould in which cheese is made” (Rxb. 1825 Jam.2; 1923 Watson W.-B., chessford, obsol., cheeseford, obs.). Chesford is now obs. in St.Eng. but still to be found in Eng. dial. (see N.E.D. and E.D.D.).
