CHEEVE, n. A Sc. form of St.Eng. sheave, a grooved pulley-wheel. Known to Cai.7 (usually in pl.), Bnff.2, Ags.17 (1939). [ʃeiv Cai.; ʃi:v Bnff., but Ags. + tʃi:v]Bnff.6 1914:
