CASHTI, Kashti, Castie, n. A stick. Given by A. McCormick in Tinkler-Gypsies (1907) as a word in use in the tinkler language of Gall., but not as current in Sc. According to Watson it is current in e. and ne.Rxb. (see W.-B. (1923) s.v. cashti, kashti).Gall. 1906 A. McCormick Tinkler-Gypsies (1907) App. xxi.:
A bit castie for a glimmer (fire).
