BROGG, n. “Low bank; knoll; a large lump of earth” (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)).
[Might be a met. form corresponding to O.N. borg, a small dome-shaped hill. Jak. regards it as the same word as brekk (s.v. Breck), cogn. with Eng. brink, O.N. brekka, a slope; but cf. Brug, n.1]You may wish to vary the format shown below depending on the citation style used.
