BLADDERDASH, n. Nonsense. A variant of Eng. balderdash, prob. influenced by Bladderskate.Sc. 1826 Wilson Noctes Amb. (1855) I. 221:
Beyond all comparison the most empty bladderdash that ever attempted to soar without gas into the ethereal regions.

[Origin of balderdash uncertain. Its first meaning seems to have been “a poor kind of mixed drink” (Un. Eng. Dict.).]
