BEIN, v. in phr. sae beins for sae bein' as = that being so (Bnff.2).Bnff.2 1934:
Ay a'll come ower t' see ye, sae beins naebody comes in aboot.Abd.(D) 1788 J. Skinner Christmass Bawing in Caled. Mag. 499:
Gin I had here the countra Skate, Sae beins I shoud him bang. [In Skinner Amusements, etc. 1809 vii. it reads: Gin I had here the skypel skate, Sae weel's I shou'd him bang!].
