Mearns 1871 Stonehaven Journal (18 May) 3/5:
When asked by someone how trade was getting on, "Bauchly, bauchly," was the reply; "thae gentry aboot Monross are a' slabberin', a' slabberin' amon' rhubarb, green peas, an' new 'taties enow.
