Geordie bait his lip for perfect eagerness. pa.p. baiten, eaten, bitten.
Abd. 1904 Abd. Wkly. Free Press (23 Jan.):
We didna ken bit wir muckle tae mith be baiten awa' or mornin'.

[O.E. bāt, pa.t. of O.E. bītan, bite. Baiten, pa.p., a later formation from pa.t. O.E. pa.p. is biten.]
