ARRESTEE, n. “The person in whose hands an arrestment is laid” (Bell's Dict. Law Scot.).Sc. 1740 Kames Decis. Crt. Sess. 1730–1752 (1766) 31:
The charger, to instruct the debt due by the arrestee to the common debtor, produced a bond, which the arrestee had granted to a third party.
Sc. 1888 Gsw. Wkly. Mail (4 Aug.) 2/5:
Messrs Sutherland were sued as arrestees, and Brown as common debtor.
Sc. 1890 Bell's Dict. Law Scot. 64:
If an arrestee disregards the arrestment and pays the money to the common debtor, he will be liable in damages and expenses.
