Scizell, n. [17th c. Eng. (1622), F. cisaille ‘the clipping of coine presently after the stamp’ (Cotgrave, 1611, in OED), f. cisailler to clip with shears.] Clippings pared from the metal in the process of coining. — 1668 Reg. Privy C. 3 Ser. II 490.
To allow such tyme for purgeing the house of that kynd of metall [sc. copper] and cunȝie and of the scizell and scroff thereof
