Sarris, Saris, v., pres. (F. serrer to hold tightly, grip fast, squeeze (13th c. in Larousse). Cf. also Sarray adv., Sarraly adv.1. Perhaps, however, merely a further example, with irregular spelling form, of Sar(e v. a, or, confusion with Sar(e v. may explain the Ruddim. spelling.) — 1513 Doug. xi xiii 170.
