Retourit, -ed, ppl. adj. [Retour v.] Based upon a return or ‘retour’ to the Chancellory, in senses 8 and 10 of Retour v.In the quot. for 1587–8, perh. ? absol. or ? a further example of Retour v. 8 d. Cf. also Returnit ppl. adj.(1) 1642 Burnett Fam. P.
