Slok(k)in, v. Also: -yn, -en, slockin, -en, slokne, slo(c)kn-, sclokn-, slaken. [North. ME and e.m.E. slokken, slocken (both Cursor M.), slokyn, -en (Rolle), also in north. Eng. dial., ON slokna, f. slokinn, p.p. of sløkkva. Cf. Slok(e v.] tr.
