Pantoffil, -offyl(l, -uiffil, n. Plur. also pantuflis, pantfollis. [e.m.E. pantofle (1487), pantouffle (1579), F. pantoufle (1489 in Hatz.-Darm.).] A slipper, perh. some particular type of slipper. Appar. obsol. in Sc. after c 1520. In plur. also without inflection. — 1494 Treas. Acc. I. 224.
