(Marchand-,) Merchand-, Mairchant-gild(e)rie. [Gildry n. 2.] A merchant guild; the association of merchants (and other burgesses) in a burgh, which enjoyed exclusive rights of trading in staple and other goods within the burgh's ‘liberty’. — 1612 Conv. Burghs II. 355.
