Land-wyn(e, -vyne, n. (Cf. ME. lande-wyn (1390–1), e.m.E. land-wine, MDu. lantwijn, MHG. lantwîn, all = home-grown wine, and F. vin du pays, wine of the district, locally grown wine; but the Sc. use below, ? = wine grown up country, not in or near the town (of Bordeaux): cf.
