Hebdomader, n. Also: hebdomadar,  hepdomadar, -atar, hypdomadar. [Late L. hebdomadarius. Cf. Ebdomadare n.] a. The senior member of a Scottish University whose weekly turn it was to superintend the discipline of the students. b. In Grammar Schools, the master who took duty for the week. a. c 1628 Edinb. B.
