Wra(i)th, Wre(y)th, v. Also: vreith, wryth, wirth, wroth. [Late ME and 17th c. Eng. (once), wrothe (c1425), wroth (c1435), OE wráðian, ON reiða, reflex. reiðask (Norw. vreidast).] tr. a. To anger, enrage, vex. b. reflex. To become angry or enraged. Also absol. or intr.a. 1375 Barb. xvii 45 (C).
