Vesy, -ie, Visie, Visit(e, n. Also: wyssitt, weisseit. [17th c. Eng. vizet (1621), visite (1638), F. visée, visite.] a. ? A means of seeing, a peep-hole. b. An inspection, examination or official investigation of some sort. Also comb. c. An act of visiting, esp. of a charitable sort, to the sick, or of a social nature. Also ? transf.a. 1626 M. Works Acc.
