[ME and e.m.E. vyntener (Lydgate), vyntyner (c1470), vyntoner (1530), altered f. viniter (1297), vintere (Lydgate), OF vinet(t)ier, med. L. vinetarius, vinatarius.] a. A vintner, a wine merchant.
