Tymmerman, Tymberman, n. Also: tymmyr man, tymmermane, timmerman, tymirman, timberman, tember man(e. Pl. also temermen. [Late ME and 17th c. Eng. tymberman (1429), timber man (1625); Tym(m)er n.1 and Man n.] a. A person who works with timber, a woodman or wood-cutter; a carpenter or joiner, esp. on a ship. Also attrib. b. A wood merchant.a., b. 1460 Hay Alex. 16093.
