[ME and e.m.E. taborere (1285-95), tabourer (1300), taberer (c1400), taberner (1450), taburner, tabernar (both 1483), OF taboreor, taborneur.] One who plays the Taburn(e, a drummer.Some examples may be personal names.(a) 1330 Exch.
