Student, n. Also: studyand, studient. [ME and e.m.E. studient(e (Trevisa), studyaunt (c1430), student(e (1432-50), OF estudiant, -ient, L. student-, pres. ppl. of studēre.] A person seeking learning or instruction; specif. one enrolled in a course of study at an institution of learning, a university or the like.
