Rud(e)mes, n. Also: ruid-, rood-; ruds-, ruids- and rudismasse, ruidsmis. [e.m.E. roode masse (1545); Rud(e n.¹ and Mes n.¹] = Rud(e)-day n.Chiefly in Dumfries and Galloway, where appar. both Rood days were regarded as terms. 1526 Dumfries B. Ct. 87b.
