Resignant, n. [17th c. Eng. (1620), F. résignant, L. resignant-, pres. p. stem of resignāre Resing v.] One who resigns, in sense 1 of Resing v. — 1552 (c1650) Dundee B. Laws 15.
That ane register buik be maid and all the said seasins … rollit thairin …, the names of the resigna[n]ts, … the resaver of the sesing [etc.] c1575 Balfour Pract. 325.
