Regrat(e, -grait(t, Regret(e, n. Also: -graite; -grett, -great. [Only Sc. till late 16th c., ? f. Regrat(e,v.1, or OF *regrat, regret. Cf. e.m.E. regrete (Surrey after Doug.), regret (Spenser).]
