Register, -gester, n.2 [e.m.E. register a registrar (1531–2), ‘prob. for registrer’ (OED).] One who records, a registrar; a chronicler.Some examples may be ellipt. for Clerk Register, hence belonging in Register n.1 b (7). 1513 Doug. i Prol. 6.
