Quhingar, -er, n. Also: quhyng-, whing-, quying-; quheng-, quheing- and -are; -ir; -re; quhynggar; Fungar, Phingar. [Var. of Quhinȝar n. Cf. Quhingear, Quhanger n.For the pronunciation see the rhymes with fingers and slingers (quots. Colvil, (1) (e) below).] A short sword. = Quhinȝar n.For further examples see Doup(e v.1, Knife n. 2 b, 3, Mint v. 3, and Index to Treas. Acc.A four edgit quhingar, ? a whinger with a blade of square or oblong section till near the point (? made only as a test-piece).
