Quate, Quat(t, v. Also: quait, quett, quatte. P.p. quated. [Orig. forms of the p.t. and p.p. of Quite v.]Rare before mid-17th c. and appar. occurring only in central and south-western Scotland: cf. the note to these forms under Quite v.

1. tr. To repay; to discharge by payment. = Quite v. 2, 4. a1605 Montg. Misc. P. xlv 27.
