Purvayit, p.p. and ppl. adj. Also: -wayit, -veyit, -ed; -vait, -vayt, -wait, -wayt, -vaid, -vayd(e, -waide, -wayd; -viit. [ME and e.m.E. pourveied (Gower), purveyed etc.] Prepared, equipped or provided; freq., supplied with men and arms for battle; ready. Also const. of or with necessities, for an eventuality or purpose (freq., war or battle), or infin.(1) 1375 Barb. ii 262.
