Pure-ane, Puir-ane, n. Also: poor(e)-an(e, -on(e. [Pur(e adj.2; Ane numeral and adj. A 3 b.] Only in pl. A poor person; a person of small means, hence, also, of low rank; a pauper, one on public assistance. = Pur(e adj.2 A 2 a, B 1 b. b. ? = Pur(e adj.2 A 2 c.(a) 1562-3 Winȝet I 8/30.
