Prince, Prins, n. Also: prynce; Prence. Plur. also princesse. [ME and e.m.E. prince (a 1225), prynce (c 1275), prins(e (1340–70), pryns(e (c 1315), princs (Cursor M.), F. prince (12th c. in Littré), L. princeps.] A prince.
