Persecut-, Persequuting, vbl. n. [e.m.E. persecutynge (1542).] The action of pursuing, dealing hostilely with or persecuting, in sense 1 of Persecut(e v. — 1594 Conv. Burghs I. 444.
Thay sall … assist … in persequuting [pr. -quit-] of the saids coniurit enemeis to Chryst 1680-6 Lauder Observes 141.
