Outlandis, Outlands, a. Also owt-, vowt-, ut-, wtlandis, outlandes; owtlands; outlens. [ME. (north midl.) outlandes (Manning) foreign (men, kings), appar. possess. sing. or pl. used attrib., of Outland; but cf. also Outlandisch,a., of which this would be the regular Sc. representative. (For a parallel formation, cf. Uplandis.)]
