Nestreis, n. pl. [Appar. formed f. nest-, taken as the stem of Nesty a. (and cf. also the later Sc. and Eng. dial. nest v. to befoul), with the suffix -ry, -ré, commonly used, as in knaverie, lounry, etc., to form derivatives of derogatory terms. Appar. localized to Fife.] Privies or latrines; but perh. taken as a sing. Also attrib. — 1562 6th Rep. Hist. MSS. App. 648/2.
