Mekil(l, -le, Meikill, adj., n. and adv. Also: meick-, meikk-, miek-, meek-, meak- and -il(l)e, -yl(l, -yl(l)e, -el(l, -el(l)e, -all, -le, -lle, -l(l. [ME. (14–15th c.) mekil(l, -le, -ull, etc., var. of Mikil(l adj., with normal e for i as in Chekin, Sekir, etc.]The compar. and superl. are supplied respectively by Mare (and Ma) and by Maste.Sometimes comb. with a synonym, as mekle grete, great mekle, mekle heich, with intensitive force.For the phrases als, how, sa mekill, see also the various separate entries (as Alsmekill etc.) of these phrases written as single words.
