Mainȝie, v. Also: maing(ne, manȝe, manye, menȝ(i)e, menye, mengȝe, meng, meingȝe. [ME. (midl.) maynhe (c 1330), mayne (c 1400), OF. mahaignier, mehaignier, mayner etc. Cf. Maim v.]

1. tr. To maim, mutilate. In passive, to be crippled or disabled by a wound or injury.(a) c1460 Alex. (Taym.) 2276.
