Lesting, -yng, vbl. n. [ME. lestynge (Prompt. Parv.), lasting (14th c.), f. Lestv.1] Continuance, duration, permanence. Only early, esp. in the phr. to have lesting. = Lest n. — 1375 Barb. ix. 283.
