Lesart, n. Also: les(s)ert, lesard, lezar, (lesur). [ME. lesard(e (14th c.) also lusarde (1377), e.m.E. lessert, le(a)zard etc., lucert (1575), OF. lesard masc., lesarde fem. Cf. Lizard.] A lizard. Also a representation of one. b. A lizard-skin. c. Attrib. with -skin and d. comb. with -like. 1494 Loutfut 24 b.
