Impetrat, p.p. Also: impetrait, -ate, -att. [L. impetrātus, p.p. of impetrāre v.; e.m.E. impetrate (1528), but appar. chiefly Sc.]

1. Obtained by petition or formal application to an authority. Applied to papal and royal mandates or, espec., mandatory writs.(1) 1498 Antiq. Aberd. & B. IV. 411.
