Dochter, Dochtir, n. Also: dochtyr(e, -ttir, -tter, -thir, -ther, -teyr, -tre, -tar, doht(t)er; docther, doctir; doȝter, doghter, -tier, -tar; dochtour; doichter, -tir, -tar, -tor; docher, -ir, dother, -ir, doither, -air, -ar. [ME. doghter, -tir, doȝter, -tir, early dohter, OE. dohtor. See also Douchter and Dauchter. The form dothir has remained in dialect.]
