Bartising, Bartisan, n. Also: bartissing, -esing, -eshing; bartesein(e, -esseine, bertisene, bartsene; bartisine, -esin; bartisane, -one, bartizan (bardizan). [ME. bretasynge (1483), briteysing (Wyclif), f. bretais, bretise (also bertes, bartes), Brettis.] A battlement or parapet.(a) 1558 Edinb. Old Acc. I. 248.
