Barrane, Barane, a. Also: barayn, -an, -en; bairane; barraigne, -an, -en, -on. [ME. bar(r)ayn(e, -eyn(e, barain, baraigne, etc., OF. baraine, baraigne, of uncertain origin.] Barren, in various senses, lit. and fig.(1) a1400 Leg.
